虽然导演实在没什么节制、奢华到令人发指、前1/3段像MV，但还算养眼。后半段有轻微的喜剧色彩，偶尔是因为笑场，比如盖茨比的出场阵仗太大了，土得明目张胆。无论是银幕上直愣愣地漂浮出书中原文，还是不同方位给了那辆黄色轿车三个广告片式的镜头，都憋着一股想当场放歌的夸张劲儿。

特效即使放在如今也不落伍，诞生于数码时代的伟大艺术品，儿戏般的故事竟然被艾默里奇硬生生拍出了史诗感，一曲英雄赞歌。现在很少有商业片精细到这个程度，群像一般的人物塑造，每个出场的角色都令人印象深刻，可能这就是经典的魅力吧
